Following the approval in principle from the Flemish Government, a public inquiry is now being set up for the general public. Anyone can view the ‘Coastal Vision’ plan and provide a response until April 26.
As of today, there will be information kiosks in the coastal municipal and town halls about the policy plan. This includes the results of studies on the possible effects of global warming on people and the environment, such as fish stocks, vegetation and siltation in the long term.
Ten information sessions will also take place in the ten coastal municipalities between March 5 and 27. After the public inquiry, all written responses received will be answered and incorporated into the draft plan. An (adjusted) strategic policy plan for Coastal Vision will be submitted to the next Flemish Government for final approval at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
