Famke Louise is considered hopeless by the show sections RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws in her fight against the men of Gossip Talk. “It’s freedom of the press. You can say what you want to say.”
Suing a gossip channel because of unwelcome reporting is the stupidest thing you can do as a Dutch celebrity: after all, they are already known for their extremely long toes and it often only provides them with even more negative publicity. Yet Famke Louise is committed to bringing her ex-bed partner Dennis Schouten and Jan Roos to their knees.
Ferocious Famke
Dennis and Jan showed a leaked song by Famke in their YouTube show RoddelPraat last month, in which she rages against her former manager Ali B. The gentlemen concluded that she may also have been abused by the rapper. According to Famke, however, the song should never have been released. She reacted furiously.
Famke’s lawsuit against the gentlemen was filed yesterday and the verdict is in a few weeks. “I personally think – but I am not Natacha Harlequin – that she has little chance,” Patty Brard responds in her Shownieuws program.
taste thing
Ronald Molendijk agrees. “She just made that track and she has already shared that track on her own Instagram. The fact that these people, Jan Roos and Dennis, make a connection with that is more of a taste thing.”
What does he think of the insinuations about possible abuse by Ali? Ronald doesn’t seem to find that so strange. “She doesn’t sing in that song: ‘What a great manager I had.’”
Just attention
A lawsuit like this just isn’t smart, says Patty. “I can imagine – the girl just finished a nice documentary with her new husband and cute baby – that it doesn’t suit her now. But yes, again, René (Mioch, ed.) already said it: you actually only attract more attention now.”
Ronald: “Yes, she has a bad manager. If I was a manager I would have just picked up that track, remixed it and released it. For my part, you add a verse to it in which you explain what the song is about. I think every radio station picks up that record right away.”
Tricky point
RTL Boulevard lawyer Clarice Stenger thinks Famke has no chance. She says: “Of course she sent this track to the radio stations, so she actually already revealed it. Then to then invoke your privacy and have people take advantage of it, is quite a difficult point.”
“The judge will also consider: Famke Louise is someone who always seeks publicity. We have now also seen a whole documentary about her birth. That will also be factored into that consideration.”
freedom of the press
Press freedom is a great asset in this country, Clarice said. “I think a court will very quickly tend – even if it may not be a very fancy program – that you can say whatever you want to say.”
“Of course they didn’t say that she was abused, but when you hear that track you can at least make that suggestion, despite the fact that she has denied it.”
