The incident, which was filmed by a technical camera from Infrabel, took place at the level crossing along the Izegemsestraat on the border of Heule and Lendelede. The car, which is driving towards Heule, ignores the red lights and the lowered barriers. At the moment the wagon crosses the railway, a train from the direction of Ingelmunster arrives. The driver of the car drives just fast enough to avoid the train.
Infrabel appeared not to be aware of the incident. It is now difficult to find out who the driver of the car is. The railway manager emphasizes once again that you should always stop at a closed level crossing.
