In a new YouTube video, Acid announces that he is starting a crowdfunding campaign. He says he does this because several fans have already set up fundraising campaigns and he wants to collect the money in one place. After twenty minutes, more than 6,000 euros had already been raised, four hours later the counter at around 64,000 euros. The amount on the site, which was down for a while because there was so much surfing on it, is increasing very quickly.

In the video, the YouTuber, who was sentenced today to a suspended prison sentence, a fine of 800 euros and compensation of 20,000 euros for harassment, says that justice is failing and he repeats that he is sorry that he now has a criminal record and the Reuzegommers not.
I would rather go mopping the streets after the Ghent Festivities than receive the same punishment as the Reuzegommers for something I did against them
He also explains why he did not accept community service. “We did not opt for a settlement because I did nothing wrong, and I still believe that.” He also says several times that he does not feel guilty: “I didn’t kill anyone.”
‘Voice of society’
Acid further says that he has represented the voice of society and is now paying an expensive price for this: “I did what we all thought and now I have to pay 20,000 euros in damages.” After which the YouTuber emphasizes that he would do exactly the same thing again, because he feels like his opinion is heard.
Lots of support
Acid is supported by a large front. Many well-known Flemish people also showed their support and Acid’s followers remain extremely loyal to him. “I feel supported,” the YouTuber responds emotionally in the video.
From five to five hundred euros are donated on the crowdfunding site. The support for both Acid and Sanda Dia’s family can also be seen in the reactions of the donors. For example, the quote “Justice for Sanda” often returns in the comments. Many well-known Flemish people can also be found among the donors. For example, Used, the well-known Flemish DJ, donated and expressed support: “All the love,” he wrote under his donation. Another well-known name among donors is Average Rob.
Multiple crowdfundings
Several crowdfundings have already been set up today by Acid fans. To avoid confusion, the YouTuber therefore set up funding himself. Acid wants to donate the surplus of the money raised to the Sanda Dia Foundation. This is a foundation that was founded by Sanda Dia’s father with which he wants to offer young people the opportunity to discover West Africa (Senegal) in a safe way, with guidance and the right support, because his son can no longer do so.
