Linda Hamilton on her “Terminator” future

Linda Hamilton has announced that she will no longer be a part of the Terminator franchise. In an interview with “Business Insider”, the actress was critical of a possible reboot of the series and emphasized that she had finished playing the role of Sarah Connor.

Hamilton first portrayed her role in The Terminator in 1984, before reprising the role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and most recently in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019).

“Why anyone would restart it is beyond me.”

Hamilton likes her role, but is skeptical about the famous movie character: “I really feel like Sarah Connor is not a symbol. She’s a woman in hell and makes really bad decisions. “She’s not a good mother – she’s a good fighter,” said the 67-year-old.

“I’m done. I do not have anything to say in addition. The story has been told and it has been carried out to excess,” she commented on the possibility of a reboot. “Why anyone would reboot it is beyond me. But I know that our Hollywood world is currently built on reboots.”

The latest film in the series, “Terminator: Dark Fate” (2022), was not an overwhelming success at the box office. Sarah Connor is grieving and bitter in it. She hunts Terminators to avenge her son, Resistance leader John Connor. Although the creator of the series, James Cameron, has repeatedly hinted at a reboot of the franchise, the actress has probably finally finished with the series.

As early as 2020, Hamilton told “The Hollywood Reporter” about a possible comeback. Even then, she said she would be “very happy never to go back.”

In June last year, it was announced that Hamilton was set for the final season of the Netflix series “Stranger Things” was occupied. Details about her role are currently still secret.
