Jukka Haapalainen recalls the events of six years ago in the Yökylä Maria Veitola program.

Sirpa Suutari-Jääskö and Jukka Haapalainen open the doors of one of their homes Maria Veitola in Yökylä in the series. Instead of London, we are now in Askola.
A dancing married couple bought a modern house on the shore of a lake in the final stages of the corona pandemic. The number one address is still located in the capital of Great Britain, right on the edge of the famous Kensington Gardens. There is also one particularly sad memory that Jukka shares in the program.
About six years ago, Jukka was beaten and robbed in his home during the day. Iltalehti reported at the time that the TTK judge had a broken rib and a torn earlobe. He was beaten and kicked, causing bleeding wounds to his head. A neighbor called the ambulance and the police.

In the Yökyläs program, Jukka says that there were four men involved.
– They had been following me for quite a long time. It’s horrible to think about. I made a few turns before going home.
Jukka had been on a long trip and had a lot of currency with him, which he was going to exchange. Sirpa had managed to go to the couple’s apartment before, when one of the robbers placed himself between Juka and the elevator. The other three were left behind. They tore Juka’s bag so that only the strap remained in place.

He still didn’t know how to flinch at his part as an underdog.
– I started to fight.
Jukka believes he broke one of the man’s ribs based on the clicking and screaming he heard.
– One guy was out of the game. I’m proud of that.
Sirpa also remembers moments of horror. He heard everything through the open window and immediately understood that Juka was in trouble.
– It was a terrible animalistic roar.

After the incident, Jukka has no longer been as confident when walking down the street. In therapy, he has not processed his experiences, but he feels that he has received help from therapeutic yoga.
– I shook that shock off the same evening.
