An underage boy from Assen is being prosecuted by the Public Prosecution Service (OM) for causing a fatal accident near Ekehaar. A 14-year-old girl from Assen died in this accident at the end of August last year.
The minor boy from Assen drove a car in the night of August 28 to 29 without having a driver’s license. On the Hemmenweg, a narrow road between Ekehaar and Anreep, something went wrong and the car crashed into a tree.
There were five minors, three girls and two boys, in the vehicle. A 14-year-old girl was killed and the four other passengers were injured.
Driving without a driver’s license
Given the young age of the suspected driver, the Public Prosecution Service is very reluctant to provide details. The young man from Assen is suspected of causing a fatal accident and driving without a driver’s license. His case will be heard behind closed doors on Friday, April 19.
