Train traffic around Schiphol is currently at a standstill due to a defective overhead line. According to the NS, the problems will last until at least half past five on Friday morning.
The large hall at Schiphol Airport station and the bus stops are slowly filling up with stranded travelers. The outage started around 9 p.m. tonight.
The NS has announced that it has adjusted the timetable. Travelers should take into account at least an hour of extra travel time.
Atmosphere pleasant
According to NH reporter Boanna Pieterse, the atmosphere at the station is pleasant. For example, a man shouts that he is driving to Schiedam and has two spots left in his car. A woman who has just landed from Thailand has to go to Breukelen and decides to take a taxi to Bijlmer Arena station. From there she hopes to continue her way by train.
NS staff are present to assist stranded travelers.
