Burglars struck during the daytime on Wednesday and in the night from Wednesday to Thursday at four places in the municipality of Emmen, the police reported on Facebook. In Emmen and Nieuw-Dordrecht the perpetrators stole items from two houses, in Klazienaveen and Nieuw-Weerdinge they were unable to enter.
On Wednesday afternoon, a house on Asserbrink in the Emmer district of Bargeres was broken into. The burglars got in by breaking open a pop-up window at the back of the house. The house was searched and several items were stolen, including a laptop and an electric bicycle. The burglary was committed between 12.45 and 3 p.m.
In the evening it hit the Vastenow in Nieuw-Dordrecht. The assailants got in by breaking open the back door. The loot was limited: the residents only miss a charger.
Failed Burglaries
In Nieuw-Weerdinge, burglars were unable to enter a house on Gedempte Achterdiep on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police, the back door of the house was damaged, but the perpetrators were unable to break it open.
Also on the Kloostermanswijk Noordzijde in Klazienaveen it remained with an attempted burglary. Between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, burglars attempted to break a window at the back of the home. That didn’t work either.
Police are calling on anyone who knows more to come forward.
