1. FC Köln is loaning midfielder Mathias Olesen to Swiss first division club Yverdon Sport FC until the end of the season. The 22-year-old Luxembourger, whose contract in the cathedral city runs until 2025, was recently linked to third division club Rot-Weiss Essen. So far this season, the right-footed Copenhagen native has played 107 Bundesliga minutes spread over six short appearances.
“Mathias has consistently developed forward during his time at FC so far. In order to further accelerate this development, Mathias now needs even more and, above all, more regular playing time. That’s why we decided together with him to loan him to FC Yverdon in the Swiss Super League,” said FC managing director Christian Keller.
