A supermarket on the Overtoom in Amsterdam-West was robbed tonight. The perpetrator threatened the staff with a knife.
The robbery took place around 8:50 p.m., more than an hour before closing time. Several police cars were called and an investigation was started.
The description of the robber was also distributed via Burgernet. This is a man of approximately 50 years old with a slightly tanned skin color. He has short black/gray hair, a stocky build and is wearing a black tracksuit from the Adidas brand. The man may still have the small knife he threatened with him, bystanders are advised not to approach him but to call 911.
The supermarket was closed after the robbery. The staff has hung up a note stating that customers are welcome again tomorrow morning.
