Biathlon live: Ruhpolding 10km sprint in the live ticker | Jan 13, 2024 2:30 p.m

15:22

Dale-Skjevdal quickly reached the finish

Johannes Dale-Skjevdal moved ahead of Strelow into fifth place at the finish. But he also did a lot of mileage here!

3:20 p.m

Jaquelin with best result

Even if it’s no longer enough for the podium today, Jaquelin can still be happy about his best result of the season. In the meantime, Justus Strelow fought his way to the finish and was roared into fifth place by the audience!

15:18

Mistake for Finello

Jeremy Finello has to go around once after shooting, while Philipp Horn finishes in eighth place!

3:16 p.m

Jacquelin loses

Jaquelin cannot keep Christiansen’s best time. The Frenchman is unlikely to be able to do that again until the finish. But could there be something else for Justus Strelow?

3:15 p.m

Stalder at the finish

Sebastian Stalder finished fourth ahead of Hartweg. The Swiss got along well here today. Roman Rees made a mistake in the prone stage in the second time.

15:13

Strelow on the last lap

A pity! Strelow comes to the second shooting almost at the same time as the leader, but then has to go into the round and is now actually fighting for a podium place!

15:12

Christiansen in the lead

Is that the winner? Christiansen takes the lead at the finish with a lead of 16 seconds. That was a really strong performance from him. However, the Noweger still has to look at Jaquelin.

3:10 p.m

Nawrath at the finish

Philipp Horn starts his standing shooting with one mistake and then adds another one. Meanwhile, Philipp Nawrath finished sixth, 37 seconds behind.

3:07 p.m

Strong Swiss performance

Sebastian Stalder fires off a strong second shot and returns to the round in fourth place just ahead of his compatriot Hartweg.

3:05 p.m

Strelow very quickly

Justus Strelow even takes the lead after a strong first shooting! This is of course appreciated by the audience.

3:04 p.m

Doll at the finish

Christiansen also made zero mistakes in his second shooting and remains clearly in the lead. At the same time, Doll crosses the finish line 20 seconds behind, Tarjei Bø takes the lead at the finish.

3:02 p.m

Horn quickly

Johannes crossed the finish line in third place, 11.5 seconds behind. Meanwhile, Nawrath has to go into the round twice, Horn can go straight back into the round after his prone shooting. He also moves very quickly.

3:01 p.m

Giacomel leads

Johannes Thingnes Bø crossed the finish line nine seconds ahead. What that’s worth remains to be seen. After the second shooting, Thomaso Giacomel took the lead

14:59

Christiansen with turbo

Vetle Christiansen is really fast and takes the lead at every split. Can he pull this off?
Meanwhile, Simon Eder unfortunately had to accept two errors in his second shooting.

14:57

Bø shoots strong

While Tarjei Bø shows a second strong shooting performance and sets everything up for a top position, Strømsheim crosses the finish line with the lead.

14:56

Second shooting Doll

And another mistake for Doll. The running time is good, but the standing shooting was not without errors. It’s a shame, but nothing is lost for him either.

14:54

Standing shooting Johannes Kühn

Kühn has to go around once after the standing stage, but he is moving quickly. This can go a long way despite mistakes! Philipp Nawrath shoots lying down almost at the same time and keeps his clean slate.

14:53

Eder also made no mistakes

Simon Eder remains faultless while lying down and returns to the round in fourth position. That’s neat! Johannes Thingnes Bø shoots shortly afterwards and has a great series and takes the lead!

14:51

Nawrath fastest German

Philipp Nawrath is starting the race as the fastest German to date. Can he also show the same performance when shooting?

2:49 p.m

Zero mistakes for Leitner

Felix Leitner shows faultless shooting and is now ranked 13th behind Burkhalter

2:47 p.m

Doll has to go round

Doll misses the first shot and has to go once in the round. But the running time is really good!

2:47 p.m

Hartweg in midfield

Niklas Hartweg is running around midfield in his first lap.

2:46 p.m

Boldly strong

Johannes Kühn is the first German to come shoot. No problem for him, he goes straight back on the track. Only about two seconds behind the lead.

2:44 p.m

One round for Bø

Johannes Thingnes Bø quickly gets to the shooting range, but has to make a turn. But with your running form that shouldn’t be a problem at first.

2:42 p.m

Ponsiluoma out

With four errors in the first shooting, Martin Ponsiluoma practically has to write off the race. Maybe he moved too quickly?

14:41

Strømsheim remains error-free

Endre Strømsheim is allowed to go straight back onto the track after shooting and remains two seconds ahead of Rastorgujevs.

2:40 p.m

The red jersey starts

Benni Doll is leaving the starting house and will now want to show strong times.

2:39 p.m

Shoot Fillon Maillet

Quentin Fillon Maillet corrects his shot before the first shooting, but then still has to go into the penalty loop.

2:38 p.m

Johannes Kühn on the way

And now Johannes Kühn is also on the track with start number 15, making him the first German on the route.

2:37 p.m

Johannes Thingnes Bø at the start

The yellow jersey is on the move and starts the hunt.

2:36 p.m

Rastorgujevs quickly

Andrejs Rastorgujevs sets a first time at the very beginning of the race. He leads the competition until the first shooting.

2:34 p.m

Start Endre Strømsheim

With Endre Strømsheim the first Norwegian is now on the track. Let’s see what works for him and his colleagues.

2:30 p.m

begin

Andrejs Rastorgujevs opened the men’s sprint and heads to the first lap.

2:25 p.m

The favorites

If you look at the overall sprint rankings, it quickly becomes clear that this could be a German-Norwegian affair. Doll leads ahead of Tarjei Bø and Sturla Holm Laegreid, as well as Philipp Nawrath and Johannes Thingnes Bø, who are definitely all favorites here. But also (almost) everything else Norwegians can run to the top here. Martin Ponsiluoma could also get involved if he doesn’t make any mistakes.

2:17 p.m

This is how Switzerland wants to fix it

Niklas Hartweg can definitely fight for a top 15 placement today. A lot is also possible with Sebastian Stalder (41). He has already reached the top ten in the sprint this season, but has also been above 42. The last weekend in Oberhof went really well for Stalder. Joscha Burkhalter (18), Jeremy Finello (77) and Sandro Bovisi (100) complete the Swiss squad.

14:12

The Austrian squad

Felix Leitner (22) achieved his best sprint result of the season in Östersund with 26th place. Shortly after him, in 27th position, Simon Eder starts. If everything fits for him, a top 20 place could be realistic. The same applies to David Komatz (42). Everything has to fit, but then a good placement is possible. Magnus Oberhauser with the number 58 is likely to have problems keeping up with the front part of the field, especially due to his running times. And Dominic Unterweger (89) will also mainly fight to collect a few World Cup points.

13:38

What is possible for the DSV?

From a German perspective, as always this season, anything is possible. We saw the strong team performance in second place in the relay. Benedikt Doll starts with the red jersey as the leader of the sprint classification in 19th place. If he has his seven things together, there should be a lot for him. For Johannes Kühn (15), the result probably depends on his significantly worse standing shooting. We now also know that Philipp Nawrath (32) is also good for very good placings. Otherwise, Philipp Horn (48), Justus Strelow (53) and Roman Rees (74) will start for Germany.
