Eintracht Frankfurt: Manager Krösche reveals transfer strategy

Sports director Markus Krösche from Bundesliga soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt has provided insights into his club’s transfer strategy. The SGE wants to further increase income through transfer fees in the coming years.

Bundesliga soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt completed the loan transfers of Donny van de Beek and Sasa Kalajdzik this winter. In addition, 20-year-old Nathaniel Brown was signed, who will continue to spend the rest of the season with second division club 1. FC Nürnberg. Deals that perfectly illustrate the SGE’s transfer strategy.

“We want to become one of the clubs in Europe where top talents can take their next step. We have now developed a reputation that they can develop with us and feel comfortable,” revealed Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche to “Bild”: “We have created the right structures for this. We have a clear playing philosophy and a great fan base.”

Krösche sees a “win-win situation” for Eintracht Frankfurt

The idea behind it: The young players should achieve the highest possible resale value, says Krösche. “We accompany their career path to a certain extent, help us to achieve our goals and can later move on for a much higher transfer fee,” explained the 43-year-old.

Randal Kolo Muani, for example, came to Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in 2022 as a 23-year-old, and after just one season he was sold to PSG for 95 million euros. Frankfurt’s hope is that Hugo Larsson, who was signed last summer for nine million euros, could also bring in a lot of money in the future. According to “Bild”, they hope to sell the 19-year-old for over 50 million euros.

Krösche emphasized: “This is a win-win situation. This means we create value in the squad and can gradually grow our budget through transfer proceeds. This is the only way we have the opportunity to attack the top four in the Bundesliga one day.”

On the other hand, the loan transfers of Donny van de Beek and Sasa Kalajdzik make it clear that not only young top talents can be signed in order to achieve the goals. “It’s important that you also have experienced players in the squad that the young players can follow,” said the former Leipzig manager.

Van de Beek is coming from Manchester United until the end of the season, Kalajdzik left Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both are 26 years old.
