Itä-Savo: Hotel Punkaharju has been sold

Hotel Punkaharju is getting a new owner.

Hotel Punkaharju has been sold, reports Eastern Savo. The new owner is the real estate company AK Properties oy from Kotka, whose owner is from the United States Artur Karaman.

Karamani already has business operations in Finland. He owns Hotel Jokipuisto and Beach Hotel Santalahti.

In Finland, Karamania helps Miika Sollo, who has worked in the hotel industry for 25 years. According to Itä-Savo, they are looking for a new member of their team who could act as the daily manager of Hotel Punkaharju.

– We plan to welcome guests to the restaurant and hotel in the spring of this year after the renovation and assembling a good team. We will take Hotelli Punkaharju to a new level, the entrepreneurs say in the press release received by Itä-Savo.

Sami Hoyer previously worked as an entrepreneur at Hotel Punkaharju. Last spring, the hotel filed for bankruptcy and was auctioned.

An offer of 745,000 euros was made for Hotel Punkaharju in the summer, which was backed by an entrepreneurial couple Mikko Ranta-Huitti and Hannu Huitti. The men run the Taidelaitur located in Punkaharju.

– We would like Hotel Punkaharju to be operational next summer. It was thought that we should also participate in the talks. Yes, we have the idea that the name would return to Valtionhotelli, Hannu Huitti told Iltalehte in the summer.

However, the deal was canceled and the hotel was put up for sale again at the end of last year.
