FC Bayern Munich easily won the Basketball Bundesliga at the end of the year. The title favorite clearly prevailed against MLP Academics Heidelberg with 83:57 (41:26).
The Munich team remains in third place with a record of 9:3 wins. Nelson Weidemann was the best scorer with 16 points in coach Pablo Laso’s team’s unchallenged success.
Rasta Vechta overturned a 15-point deficit to win 85:81 (78:78, 34:40) against the Rostock Seawolves. 14 minutes before the end, the guests were leading 59:44, then Lower Saxony turned up the heat. With nine wins, the league newcomer is in a playoff position.
Braunschweig wins the Lower Saxony derby
The playoff contenders MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg and Hamburg Towers also won at the end of the year. Ludwigsburg won the Baden-Württemberg derby against the Walter Tigers Tübingen with 104:94 (50:48) and has a record of 9:5 successes. Hamburg took its eighth win of the season with a narrow 89:85 (45:42) against bottom-placed Hakro Merlins Crailsheim.
In the Lower Saxony derby, the Löwen Braunschweig clearly defeated the BG Göttingen with 110:82 (54:46). Braunschweig can still hope for the playoffs in eleventh place.
