Recently, three more dog carcasses washed ashore. These three finds also appear to be young animals of probably the same breed and again they are not chipped. As with the first three finds, the animals’ fur had already partially decomposed due to the water.
Ostend Police continues to investigate these incidents and keeps all possible avenues open. For example, the animals may be victims of flooding in the Westhoek. Although it is striking that six unchipped dogs of probably the same breed and age group have already washed ashore, without anyone reporting a missing pet.
