The popularity of Home Alone movies is not going away.
Home alone -film premiered 33 years ago. In Finland, the film was released on December 21, 1990, and has been a traditional part of our Finns’ anticipation of Christmas ever since.
In the hit movie, the boy Kevin accidentally stays home for Christmas while the rest of the family rushes off on a Christmas trip. Kevin has to protect his home from two bandits, who fall victim to the most creative pranks.
Even though decades have passed, the glow of the beloved films doesn’t seem to have died down. Macaulay Culkin, who starred in the lead role and is now 43 years old, got his own star on Hollywood’s legendary Walk of Fame in December.

– Culkin has had a long career, but Home Alone is one of the most loved Christmas movies around the world, he continues.
Culkin had his breakthrough role in Home Alone. A sequel was made two years later Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York. The beloved film series later received even more sequels, but these films were no longer made with the original cast.

Stern recently revealed what Home Alone fans ask her the most. The considerations are naturally related to the problems the villains faced in the film.
– Did you have a real tarantella on your face? Did it hurt when a brick hit your face?
– When people started asking about these, I started to answer, “you know it wasn’t real that we use sets?” I didn’t really get hit in the face by the brick, says Stern.
Pesci recalls that the comedy in the films required heavy physical performances.
– That type of humor caused bumps, bruises and general pain. I got some serious burns on my scalp when we were shooting the scene where Harry’s hat caught fire.
– Fortunately, we had professional stand-in actors doing the heaviest stunts.

The popularity of the films has not waned over the decades, as in 2021 fans were able to spend the night in the iconic Home Alone house. The house in Chicago has been turned into an Airbnb destination and anyone could make a reservation for one night.
