Louis Vuitton Australian Open trophy case

Louis Vuitton hits forehand in tennis.

The French luxury brand has designed two trophy cases for the Australian Open tennis tournament taking place in Melbourne, Louis Vuitton said on Friday.

The luxury fashion house, which began as a suitcase manufacturer, designed ‘Trophy Trunks’ tailored to the trophies, which were made by hand in its workshops in Asnières near Paris. At the start of the Australian Open, the first of the four Grand Slam tournaments, at the end of January and at the award ceremonies, there should be a suitcase each for the ‘Daphne Adkurst Memorial’ Cup for women and the ‘Norman Brookes Challenge’ Cup for men be seen.

The signature Monogram Canvas, a cotton fabric printed with the brand’s emblem, covers the exterior of the cases, while a microfiber lining – in the tournament’s blue color palette – lines the interior. What is striking on the front of the suitcase is the ‘V’, which stands for both Victory and Vuitton.
