who won the “Mondialone” of the premier class?

Often, in the history of MotoGP, there has been talk of Mondialito. Some readers will remember, for example, the “equal” challenge between Valentino Rossi and Alex Barros, when at the end of 2002 Honda also supplied the Brazilian – who had previously raced with the Nsr 500 – the brand new RC211V. It was the first year of the newly created four-stroke queen class, a season of transition towards a new era made up of very fast and technological prototypes (for the record: to win the mini-derby inside the Golden Wing was Barros, with 86 points in four competitions against Valentino’s 85). Now, however, two decades after the debut of the category that replaced the two-stroke top class, we can come to terms with what we could call the Mondialone , a long “championship” lasting twenty seasons that will allow us to elect the “Champion of Champions” of this first era of MotoGP. A game, nothing more: calculator in hand we started to do some calculations, to draw up the ranking of the drivers who scored the most points from 2002 to 2021.
