After a defeat at VfL Gummersbach, HSV Hamburg has to move further and further towards the bottom of the table in the handball Bundesliga.
The North Germans lost on Thursday (December 7th, 2023) with 23:24 (13:12) and suffered their tenth defeat in the 16th game of the season. Hamburg lost seven of the last nine games (12:20 points). Even nine goals from top thrower Casper Mortensen didn’t help the guests score anything.
In front of 4,132 spectators, Hamburg missed the opportunity to equalize in the final minute due to a technical error. Gummersbach and national player Julian Köster only had to let the clock run down after an even game.
VfL (16:16) celebrated their seventh win of the season at the start of the 16th matchday and initially improved to seventh place in the table. “It’s a bit happy how the victory came about. But tomorrow no one will care anymore”said Gummersbach’s goalkeeper Daniel Rebmann on “Dyn”.
