Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund will apparently have to do without full-back Julian Ryerson for the rest of the year. According to information from the TV station “Sky” and the “Bild” newspaper, the Norwegian suffered a knee injury to the medial ligament. An exact diagnosis has not yet been made, but internally it is assumed that there will be a downtime of up to eight weeks.
Ryerson, who has been one of the top performers in recent weeks, suffered the injury on Wednesday in the 2-0 DFB Cup loss at VfB Stuttgart. BVB will face RB Leipzig in the pursuit duel in the Bundesliga on Saturday. According to the “Bild” newspaper, BVB coach Edin Terzic will also have to do without striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who injured his thigh. Marius Wolf and Marcel Sabitzer’s appearances are also questionable due to ankle and calf injuries, the paper writes.
