Christoph Kramer wants to continue working in the football business after his active career. In an interview with “Rhenish PostThe midfielder from Borussia Mönchengladbach said that he definitely sees himself as a coach: “I need grass under my feet. I don’t see myself as a manager, even though you should certainly never say never.”

The 2014 world champion, who already has the B-Plus license, has been active as a professional for more than twelve years and is under contract in the Lower Rhine until 2025 – he will then be 34 years old. However, he has no plans to end his career yet: “I want to play football for a long time. This is the best I can do.” What comes next “will be a little less great,” he said. “I really appreciate everything I have and I already know that I will mourn this time from the day I stop. That’s why I will dedicate all my devotion to it until then.”

While Kramer was used last season, he is only used as a substitute in the current season under coach Gerardo Seoane – he came on as a substitute in all six of his appearances. Manu Koné, Florian Neuhaus, Julian Weigl and Rocco Reitz are at the forefront of the midfield. “The guys who are playing right now are doing well, I came into every game when I was fit and am there when I can play for ten or 15 minutes,” said Kramer. For him it was “okay” to come off the bench.
