Saturday morning, 5:30 a.m. in Berlin-Frohnau: A bank blows up!
Even before sunrise, the residents of a house on Welfenallee at Ludolfingerplatz in Berlin-Frohnau were rudely woken from their sleep.
The reason: Unknown perpetrators blew up two ATMs in a Deutsche Bank branch!
The explosion was so violent that the entire bench flew apart and debris was scattered for meters across the sidewalk. The damage is so extensive that the entire building may have to be evacuated due to the risk of collapse, as the police announced on Saturday morning.
According to BZ information, no one was injured. The responding fire brigade was not needed.
According to witness statements, the perpetrators fled in a dark BMW sedan. It is still unclear whether the perpetrators stole the cash boxes from the ATMs.
A local search that was initiated immediately, in which Brandenburg police officers were also involved, was unsuccessful. A specialist commissioner from the Berlin police has started the investigation.
