NoYou don’t recognize the value of Red Carpets until you lose them. After months and months the strike by Hollywood workers has finally ended. Celebrating the return to the spotlight is one of the most anticipated films of 2023: Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The prequel to the well-known saga features protagonists Rachel Zegler, Tom Blythe and Hunter Schaferthe latter not only on the set but also and above all during the promotional tour now underway.
With a inaugural red carpet which had laid the foundations for a true sartorial spectacle, all the looks that followed lived up to it. On the other hand, in the film she plays the designer Tigris Snowso who better than her could represent and relaunch the Hunger Games style?
Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow also on the red carpet
The success of the film, released on November 15th in Italian cinemas, had been predicted for some time. What was not expected was that fashion, recently penalized by various events canceled due to strikes, would return to having such a central role in advertising. Taking the reins of the situation into their own hands, since the Berlin premiere of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, was the actress best known for her role in Euphoria, Hunter Schafer. He got us used to it looks capable of capturing attention from all over the world, like Ann Demeulemeester’s bra-feather shown off at the kids’ party Oscars 2023. To the point of demonstrating, in recent weeks, that we can raise the bar even further by proposing a “museum” couture fashion. For her Red Carpet debut she chose a long-sleeved midi dress with mock neck by Schiaparelli. Like every design signed by Daniel Roseberry, this one also featured a trompe l’oeil, here linked to the fabric. Completely crocheted, it was covered with hand-painted fragments which recreated a mosaic effect, embellished in turn with rhinestones.
Marni, Alexander McQueen and Prada create masterpiece dresses
And if a good start is halfway done, Schafer continued the alternating tour more sensual clothes to real ones artwork. Having landed in Los Angeles, to remain both in tune with her character, imaginative and refined, and with the glamor of the Hollywood city, she opted for a sparkling design from the Pre-Fall 2023 collection by Alexander McQueen. In a cascade of crystals, with cut-outs and transparencies to show the statuesque silhouette of the actress, she seemed to have veered into a completely different genre. Until, with a set consisting of a long skirt, balcony bra and bolero Prada has not confirmed its strategy for these Red Carpets: simply amaze. Chosen for the London premiere, it was a reinterpretation of some archive items dating back to the SS 2009 collection. With a marigold color in full fantasy style, with black bows here and there, it stole attention by placing an emphasis on your personal style.
And when it seemed that the peak had been reached, the American actress showed off the most scenic look seen so far. Entirely handmade by the team of MARNI, it is a mini-dress wrapped in recycled and hand-painted metal flowers, applied on a collage of structured poplin petals. A sartorial work one-of-a-kind in the shades of pink that made its way into the hearts of fans, who immediately noticed the resemblance to the dress covered in monarch butterflies (signed Alexander McQueen) who wore the character of Effie Trinket in the first chapter of the saga.
The style continues… even out of the spotlight
The magic continues outside the Red Carpet, where Hunter Schafer is proving himself at the height of Hollywood actresses with years of career behind him (if not better). In London, for an appointment with the press, she appeared in a stage dress coat jacquard by Maison Margiela FW 23/24 and paper sailor hat with veil. In Los Angeles, more elegant and minimal, he showed off trousers Tory Burch studded shoes, white leather t-shirt and ballet flats.
While, for a radio appearance, he opted for an ensemble of Conner Ives. White skirt with 3D floral themed embroidery, matching top and an elegant gray coat they gave her back a formal but always creative and imaginative image. Consolidated by lovely pink satin ankle strap sandals and a black patent shoulder bag.
It is precisely when we least expect it that it is born a Red Carpet star: Hunter Schafer is the name to watch from here on out.
