Geert Wilders in stitches about Gijp, strict with Derksen: ‘This is stupid’

In the TV hit Today Inside, Geert Wilders has to laugh uncontrollably at a bawdy joke by René van der Gijp, but he clashes with Johan Derksen. “This is a stupid comment.”

Geert Wilders couldn’t control his laughter last night Today Inside, when René van der Gijp made a spicy joke about his MP Dion Graus. Two years ago, Dion was accused of encouraging his ex-wife to have sex with his private security guards for years. The Public Prosecution Service investigated, but no charges were filed.

Minister Graus?

When Wilfred Genee suggests that Dion could possibly become Minister of Justice, Wilders laughs: “Um, well, that could be possible, of course.”

Wilfred: “You have to laugh at it yourself!”

Wilders: “Maybe Dion Graus, the State Secretary for Animal Affairs!”

Then seriously: “What he has been accused of has all been investigated by the Public Prosecution Service and nothing has proven to be true. Again, believe me, when the Public Prosecution Service investigates a PVV member, they do it thoroughly. They didn’t even prosecute him, nothing.”

Spicy joke

René breaks in with a bawdy joke. “I had to laugh, because I then heard something like: yes, that was his wife, the security guard ehhh… That was the case, wasn’t it?”

Wilfred: “Yes, several security guards.”

René: “Several security guards. Well, it’s a good thing he (points to Wilders, ed.) doesn’t, because he has eighteen! Hahahahahaha! I thought to myself! That wouldn’t be good! That wouldn’t go well!”

Wilders covers his face with his hands. “I say nothing! I say nothing!”

‘On a roll!’

It is clear that Wilders appreciates the joke. René: “You shouldn’t start that nonsense! Hahaha.”

Wilders: “No, no, no, no, no.”

René: “But yes, you keep them busy. Hahaha.”

The atmosphere in Today Inside is light-hearted, although there is one serious confrontation. Wilders finds Johan Derksen’s Israel position objectionable.

‘Stupid comment’

Johan is outspokenly pro-Palestine and anti-Israel. “I think it is vulgar revenge and no concern is given for human lives,” the football expert fumes.

Wilders counters this: “I have sympathy for you, but this is a very stupid comment. Really, I’m sorry.”

Applause follows in the studio. Johan somewhat offended: “That is painful, because I have never been able to catch you doing that in the past.”

Cobelens cancelled?

Oops, is Wilders now also canceled by Johan? Pieter Cobelens would no longer be welcome in VI because he confronted Johan about what he considered to be an unqualified position on Israel.

Nonsense, says Wilfred: “By the way, Pieter Cobelens wasn’t canceled by you, was he? That was suggested, but that’s not true, is it?

Johan: “I also read that Pieter Cobelens is not allowed to sit here. This is not about the guests at all.”
