Telstar’s strong home series ends after defeat against De Graafschap

Telstar lost 1-2 to De Graafschap tonight. In an exciting final phase, the club from Velsen was unable to catch up. This ends a series of three home victories.

The Velsen team got off to a good start against De Graafschap. Danzell Gravenberch hit the post after four minutes with a hard shot. He remained dangerous for the rest of the match, but was also often inaccurate in his finishing. After half an hour of play he shot the ball against the edge of the roof of the stadium.

Right back Robin Polley was missing at Telstar. Tim van de Loo took over his place. Thomas Oude Kotte returned from an injury.

De Graafschap is distancing itself

After the break the Super farmers the initiative. Basar Önal was immediately dangerous and for a moment it looked like he could score the opening goal, but the ball went wide of the goal.

In the 60th minute, David Flakus Bosilj gave de Graafschap the lead. The Slovenian striker netted a cross from the left: 0-1. Ten minutes before the end, Devin Haen put an end to Telstar’s hopes. He scored the 0-2.

Although Telstar’s hope for a result seemed to have disappeared, it did return to the game. Substitute Mohammed Tahiri put the tying goal on the scoreboard for Telstar in the 87th minute.

It was an exciting final phase, in which Telstar went all out for the win. The last three home games each resulted in a winning goal in injury time, but tonight things were different. Tahiri was close to the equalizer, but he shot the ball wide.

Den Bosch

Next Friday, Telstar will play the away match against direct competitor FC Den Bosch. The match in North Brabant will start at 6.45 pm.
