“Members can be happy”
FC Bayern will once again present top figures at the annual general meeting on Sunday. According to “Kicker”, a record will be achieved in sales for the 2022/23 financial year. Sales are therefore beyond the 800 million euro mark for the first time. In 2021/22, the Munich-based company took in 665.7 million euros – also due to corona. The previous high was from the 2018/19 season before the pandemic at 750.4 million euros. The 100 million euro transfer from striker Harry Kane (30) will not yet appear in the figures as it will be allocated to the current financial year.

“Economically, we are more than impressive; our members can look forward to the balance sheets. And we once again lived up to our social responsibility with many initiatives. We are looking forward to sharing all of this with our members at the AGM,” said President Herbert Hainer in “Münchner Merkur/tz”. The members’ meeting will take place on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. in the Rudi Sedlmayer Hall, the BMW Park for basketball players. For the first time, the annual general meeting will be held on a morning.
“We are counting on many members coming to the annual general meeting to, among other things, vote on the new statutes. The whole process is democracy in action and it is important that as many members as possible make use of their right to vote, because in an association with over 300,000 members, the largest possible group should be involved in setting the course,” said Hainer.

The Bayern boss added with a view to sport: “FC Bayern is once again in a brilliant position in autumn 2023: our footballers have not yet lost a game in the Bundesliga and have won everything again in the Champions League. Our Women’s team has taken first place, our basketball players are developing further with our new coach Pablo Laso.”
FC Bayern is foregoing a winter training camp
FC Bayern will forego a training camp this winter. “We discussed the topic and ultimately decided not to have a winter training camp this year. Since the league starts again on January 12th, we would only have had four or five days on site, and for such a short time the effort is simply not worth it,” said CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen in “Münchner Merkur/tz”. “We will therefore stay at home this winter and train here.”
The record champions had traveled to Qatar since 2011, with the exception of a two-year break during the corona pandemic. The Munich-based company also maintained a sponsorship relationship there that lasted for years. This collaboration, which had been controversial, was not renewed in the summer. A trip to the 2022 World Cup host country was therefore not expected this year. In summer preparation, Bayern completed a training camp at Tegernsee before their trip to Asia.

This winter, too, coach Thomas Tuchel is preparing the team at home for the next tasks. There is still a little detour for the stars. “A training camp is not just about physical fitness or tactical things, but also about spending time together and strengthening the team spirit. For this togetherness, the team will also go to the mountains together for two days,” announced Dreesen.
The series champions from Munich are taking a short winter break after the away game on December 20th at VfL Wolfsburg. It continues on January 12th with an away game at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. A good week later, FC Bayern will host Werder Bremen at the start of the second half of the season on January 21st.
