About twenty residents of Sint-Pieterskerklaan in Bruges are currently experiencing flooding in their basement. This could be due to the works in the street that started at the end of September last year. More specifically, the new sewers in combination with the heavy rainfall in recent days could be the culprits.
Local resident SD is also experiencing it at the moment: “The water is coming out of the ground. We can’t catch it. Let it rise for a few hours and then pump away, wait a few hours again and pump again. And so this goes on. Not a drop came in here for the works.”
