The RMI has declared code yellow for the entire country. The wind will increase significantly next night to quite strong or locally strong, with gusts that can reach around 80 km/h during a heavy shower. The RMI also expects windy weather on Sunday with showers, with wind gusts of 70 km/h or more.
The temporarily activated telephone number 1722 is for requests for assistance from the fire brigade for storm and water damage, for example for flooded cellars or flooding on the road. The Ministry of Internal Affairs points out that the fastest way to request fire brigade assistance is a digital request via the website 1722.be.
It is the operators of the emergency centers who also answer telephone calls to 1722. They do give priority to the most urgent calls to the emergency number 112, which serves for situations that may be life-threatening.
