Claudia de Breij gives a negative voting advice for Dilan Yesilgöz, the leader of the VVD. She doesn’t find her very warm and human. “She came here herself thanks to our asylum policy!”
PvdA-GroenLinks is often accused of hypocrisy now that an old, white man is at the head of this left-progressive party. The right-wing conservative VVD is led by a woman of Turkish-Kurdish descent. Is Claudia de Breij more inclined to vote for Frans Timmermans or Dilan Yesilgöz? A rhetorical question…
Not warm and human
Claudia would rather have Frans in the Tower than Dilan. She calls her ‘a younger, darker than white woman’, but is otherwise not enthusiastic at all. “Dilan Yesilgöz-Zegerius wants to implement an asylum policy in the Netherlands under which she herself would not have entered the Netherlands at the time. That is possible,” she writes in the VARA guide.
The comedian continues: “You can also run from a burning house and then remove the ladder for those still in it. Which can. It’s not very warm and human, but it’s possible. And you don’t have to be warm and human just because you happen to have a certain origin.”
Negative voting advice
Claudia gives negative voting advice for Dilan. “We can choose ourselves. If you have to choose, and you have to choose on November 22, do you choose someone who belongs to a minority, but does not want to do anything to help that minority, or do you choose someone who does not belong to a minority, but who fights for the emancipation of that minority?”
She knows it herself: “Not that complicated at all, actually.”
