Juve beats Milan: tension in Serie A

Juventus Turin created new excitement at the top of Serie A – and was able to rely on the involuntary help of German international Malick Thiaw. Juve won the top game on Sunday evening at AC Milan 1-0 (0-0) because Thiaw on Milan’s side was shown a red card in the first half after an emergency stop (40th).

Until then, the Rossoneri had taken control of the game, but Turin took control with the majority and ultimately won with Manuel Locatelli’s goal (63′).

The record champions are still third, but with 20 points they are only one point behind Milan, who entered the match day as league leaders. At the top is now Inter Milan (22), who had already won at FC Turin (3-0) on Saturday.

In the upper midfield of Serie A, star coach Jose Mourinho managed a last-minute win against AC Monza with AS Roma, Stephan El-Shaarawy (90th) scored to make it 1-0 (0-0). One of the main topics of the match day was Mourinho’s behavior a few minutes later.

Well into injury time of the emotional duel, he clashed again with Monza’s bench, made fun of his opponents and symbolically wiped tears from his eyes. The referee showed Mourinho a red card and the Portuguese will miss the game at Inter next Sunday due to the suspension.

“I made a few gestures, I didn’t say anything offensive,” Mourinho said later: “The only ones who put on a show the whole time and put pressure on the referee were the opponents.”
