Manter International from Emmen is the best company in Drenthe.
In a packed De Nieuwe Kolk theater in Assen, Manter International from Emmen was named the best company in Drenthe on Thursday evening. Manter produces weighing and packaging machines for the potato, vegetable and fruit sector.
130 companies competed
This spring, Manter was one of the 130 Drenthe companies that registered for the annual business competition. After a selection, ten companies remained. They had to try to get a place in the final in a preliminary round in July.
In addition to Manter, local Proxcys and Brink Industrial from Hoogeveen remained. In the final on Thursday, owner Henk Wehkamp of Manter appeared to have the best credentials.
Worldwide exports
Wehkamp’s company exports worldwide. Housing in Emmen is far from an obstacle for Wehkamp. “The port of Rotterdam and Schiphol are just as easily accessible to us as from Amsterdam.”
According to Wehkamp, the title means a lot to his company. “We are not so in the foreground. But this competition is a huge incentive for our people.”
