Next EuroLeague defeat for Alba Berlin

The basketball players from Alba Berlin are still not getting going in the EuroLeague.

At Virtus Bologna, the Albatrosses around world champion Johannes Thiemann lost 76:87 (26:44) on Wednesday evening and suffered their third defeat in the third game. As a result, the capital club, which had already suffered defeats against Bayern Munich and Baskonia Vitoria, slipped to second-to-last place in the table.

The best thrower for the Berliners, who are unlikely to have a play-off chance after a change, was the American Sterling Brown with 17 points. Tornike Shengelia (26) collected the most points for Bologna.

Alba’s next chance for its first success in this year’s competition is on Friday (7 p.m./MagentaSport). Then coach Israel Gonzalez’s team travels to AS Monaco, which won for the first time on Wednesday against top Serbian club Red Star Belgrade (82:76).
