Film director Dariush Mehrjui and his wife Vahideh Mohammadifar have been murdered, reports The Guardian.

One of Iran’s most successful film directors Dariush Mehrjui83, and his wife Vahideh Mohammadifar are dead, reports The Guardian.
The couple was stabbed to death in their home near Tehran on Saturday night.
Authorities have said Mehrjui and Mohammadifar died from multiple stab wounds to the neck.
Mehrjui had sent Mona– I texted my daughter at nine on Saturday night local time and invited her to dinner. When the daughter arrived an hour and a half later, she found her parents murdered.
According to the police, no signs of a break-in have been found in the apartment and the doors have not been damaged. However, the police have found other traces in the apartment, which are believed to be related to the murderer.

Mohammadifar had previously given an interview to the Etemad newspaper, in which he said that he had been threatened and that the couple’s home had been broken into. Mohammadifar had also talked about the anonymous threats he had received on his social media channels.
Iran’s Minister of Culture Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaili has called Mehrjui one of the pioneers of the Iranian film industry.
