Dto the Arctic Circle to Sicily to the American continent, International Literary Parks Day will be celebrated on Sunday 22 October. The event, which falls simultaneously with the centenary of the birth of Italo Calvinowill present a rich program of events, readings, meetings and places that have inspired some of the most beautiful pages of literature.
Literary Parks, a day to celebrate them
The demonstrations will begin a few days early on the centenary of the birth of Italo Calvinofor which thanks to the work of the Italian Embassy, the Literary Park dedicated to the writer born in Santiago de Las Vegas in 1923.
From Cuba we move on to the Garden of Ninfa to talk about Italo Calvino and his literary relationship with Marguerite Chapin, the last Caetani princess who opened her wonderful homes to the arts and literature. And we will move on from here on the banks of Valle Lambro Park in Lombardy, for the Poetry and Arts Festival of Monza in the palace of Queen Margaret.
With D’Annunzio between Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise
At this point you can spend “A week in Abruzzo” with Ugo Ojetti and stop with Gabriele d’Annunzio in the Sagittarius Gorges in Anversa degli Abruzzi (Aq). Meanwhile, the Old-growth forests of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park (Unesco) will reveal the words of Benedetto Croce up to the Maiella National Park (Unesco). Mountains, trees and chestnut groves told by the Bertolucci
Nino Chiovini from the Val Grande National Park (Unesco) in Piedmont e Attilio, Giuseppe and Bernardo Bertolucci from the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park (Unesco) will reveal “The majesty of the mountains and the solemnity of the trees”. As well as Policarpo Petrocchi in Castello di Cireglio (Pt) he will talk about the chestnut groves of the Pistoia mountains that the Park intends to help recover. In Ostia (Rome) we will discover ourselves with Pier Paolo Pasolini that culture and environment together are fundamental in the work of recovery and development of a territory. And the two Zittelle will lead you by the hand along the streets of Pico (Fr). Tommaso Landolfi.
Knowing and conserving biodiversity with Montale
Taking inspiration from the poetry of Eugenio Montaleyou will learn to know and conserve the biodiversity and values of the natural and cultural landscape in Cinque Terre National Park (Unesco). Immersed in the Casentinesi Forest National Park (Unesco) you will travel with the fairies, the ogres, the princesses, the soldiers and the saints of the Casentino (Ar) of Emma Perodi. From Cuba to the Garden of Ninfa (Lt) we will return to talking about Italo Calvino and his literary relationship with Marguerite Chapinthe last Princess Caetani who opened her wonderful homes to the arts and literature.
