On the third day of the 58th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, 156 athletes pedaled with the start from Fethiye. The cyclists, who climbed to an altitude of 1,950 meters above sea level, saw the finish in Babadağ at the end of the challenging stage. Alexey Lutsenko from Astana Team achieved the first place in the general individual classification on the third day of the TOUR with a time of 3 hours 34 minutes and 17 seconds. With this success, Alexey Lutsenko won the Turquoise Jersey in tomorrow’s Fethiye-Marmaris stage.

The Babadağ climb of the Fethiye-Fethiye stage went down in history as the hardest hill used in an International Cycling Union (UCI) road race.
BOUVIER WON THE SPRINT PREMIUM SPONSORED BY MOSSO
At the 31.3 kilometer of the stage, the sprint bonus sponsored by Mosso took place. The first athlete to cross the line for the sprint bonus, which took place at an altitude of 63 meters, was Leo Bouvier from Bike AID Team. Luca Colnaghi from Green Team came second, and Doğukan Arıkan from Spor-Toto Team came third.

The bonus gate, sponsored by Shimano, was passed at the 49.8th kilometer of the stage, where the peloton did not break up much. Robigzon Oyola from Medellin EPM Team was the first athlete to pass the bonus gate. Umberto Poli from Team Novo Nordisk came second and Oliver Mattheis from Team Bike AID came third. After passing this gate, the track started to get steeper. The athletes pedaled towards a thousand meters altitude.
GREAT ATTACK FROM OYOLA
Medellin EPM Team’s Colombian athlete Robigzon Oyola, who showed an excellent performance from the middle of the stage, won the climbing bonus sponsored by Turkish Airlines at 67.9 kilometers and began to widen the time gap with his closest rivals. Although Oyola continued to ride alone on the 18-kilometer course, which ascends to an altitude of 2000 meters, which is the last big climb to the finish, Florian Lipowitz and Ben Zwiehof from Bora Hansgrohe, Alexey Lutsenko and Harold Tejada from Astana pedaled together until the 8.8 kilometers to the finish. Lutsenko managed to finish the difficult climb in first place with his attack in the last 800 meters.
