In the weekly magazine on newsstands today, the interview with the Lazio goalkeeper after the historic goal against Atletico Madrid. And then the Sports Festival and Berardi’s statistics
He scored a decisive goal on his Champions League debut. And this alone would be enough to leave a (small) mark in the history of this competition. But if you are a goalkeeper by profession then you will leave your mark – and a big one – in the history of football. This is what happened to Ivan Provedel, Lazio’s goalkeeper, who scored the incredible equalizer in the 95th minute of the match against Atletico Madrid. This is enough for Sportweek to dedicate the cover of the issue coming out on Saturday to him (as always attached to the Gazzetta dello Sport at the total price of 2.20 euros). “As a kid I played as a striker, but I always dreamed of being a goalkeeper. My past as a center forward left me with a certain instinct. Without that, I would never have scored a goal against Atletico Madrid.” Provedel spoke to us not only about his feat but also about his colleagues (“Donnarumma is a phenomenon, but the strongest ever is Buffon. And today my favorite is Alisson. I would like to meet a legend like Zoff”) and about his private life: “My son is 2 years old and already gets in the middle of the little door we have at home. But I don’t know whether to wish him to play my role: you always have the spotlight on you.”

This week’s Sportweek also dedicates a lot of space to the Sports Festival, which from 12 to 15 October will invade the city of Trento with an edition full of events, meetings and champions. An event that goes beyond the story of legendary feats in many disciplines and also looks to the future, to what football will be and to the new route of the 2024 Giro. In Trento there will be, among others, 5 Golden Balls (Baggio, Rummenigge, Papin, Ronaldinho and Shevchenko), the queen of Italian sport Sofia Goggia, two record holders of great athletics such as Fiasconaro and Powell and many books: Sportweek dedicates in-depth analysis and services to all of them. But this week we also went through the Serie A numbers and discovered that Domenico Berardi, scorer of a splendid goal against Inter, has been a top scorer in the league for 11 years in a row. Like him, today in Serie A, only Zapata and Vecino. And there is only one player who has done even better, and he is not a striker. To find out his name, all you have to do is read Sportweek…
