On Thursday (February 24) Robin Williams is number one in the German Twitter trends. The actor was known for his delicately comedic (‘Dead Poets Society’) and dramatic (‘Good Will Hunting’) roles. Many fans only found out that he was depressed when he committed suicide in 2014.
Dead Poets Society Review:
Some Twitter users are outraged that Williams is the trend leader today, as Putin’s army invading Ukraine is the global issue. “The fact that ‘Robin Williams’ is trending in Germany at the same time as Russia is trying to incorporate parts of Eastern Europe says something about western decadence,” says one. Others point out that the trend order “World War”, “Robin Williams” (he wasn’t on 1 at the time) and “Distraction” can also offer comfort in times of war:
why do you always look at the trends.
the top 3:
world war
Robin Williams

Ultimately, the thought of Williams also helps many users to deal more intensively with the topics of depression and suicide:
“Robin Williams” leads the trends and some get upset about how can you, it’s war etc. And then you read the tweets about Williams and people just write about their depression & the suicide of close relatives. But the main thing is that you condemn them.
