VfL Wolfsburg has their eye on striker Levi García from AEK Athens. This is what the Greek online portal reports “SDNA“. Accordingly, on Monday, a “Wolves” scout followed the 25-year-old’s performance in the Athens derby against Panathinaikos (2:1) – once again. García is said to have been on Wolfsburg’s list for a long time.
Even though García didn’t score against Panathinaikos, the VfL scouts are said to continue to write positive reports about García. The “Wolves” are impressed by the overall package of the striker, who is still bound until 2028: his technical skills, his tactical behavior, his strength and speed.

Last season, García was ordered from the wings to the center of the attack by coach Matías Almeyda and thanked him for it with 18 goals and seven assists in 37 games – in the end there was the third double after 1939 and 1978. The one in the summer of 2019 for 2.2 million García, who was signed at the Euro from Beitar Jerusalem, previously contributed 14 goals and assists in 79 appearances.
VfL now has six center forwards under contract for the coming season – including Luca Waldschmidt (27; 1. FC Köln) and Bartosz Bialek (21; KAS Eupen), who are currently on loan. Wolfsburg could also use a purchase option for Lyon loanee Amin Sarr (22). If García actually ends up in the Bundesliga, he would be only the second professional from Trinidad and Tobago in the German upper house: In the 1999/00 season, Evans Wise played nine games for SSV Ulm 1846.
