Star Lunch in Vantaa has been selected as the best lunch restaurant in Finland in the Best Lunch in Finland competition.
Puumalan Poiju from Puumala took second place. It is the first restaurant in a small town to be among the top three in the Suomen Paras Lounas poll.
In the voting organized by Edenred Finland Oy, 76,419 votes were cast and they were distributed among 6,494 restaurants.
– The great result shows that lunch restaurants are a big part of Finnish everyday life, Edenred’s working life expert Laura Lahtinen says in the announcement.
This year’s best lunch restaurant in Finland, Star Lunch, has become a Tiktok phenomenon even before the Best Lunch in Finland competition. Star Lunch’s TikTok account has 26,000 followers and a total of 511,500 likes.
Star Lunch restaurateur Kerem Bölük emphasizes that the food is decisive, although some have their own part.
– Social media and marketing are important, they get people through the door of the restaurant. But every weekday has to have an even better lunch. It determines whether people will come again, Bölük states in the announcement.
Restaurateur of Puumala Poiju Jesse Hietala believes that a large part of the votes came from the cottagers.
– In Puumala, there is a really good sense of community between the locals and the cottagers. Cottagers are a really important customer group for us, along with the locals, of course, Hietala says.
