The Girona coach was very satisfied with the image offered by his team in the 4-2 draw against Granada
“When we give our maximum performance we can compete against anyone,” said the Madrid native.
Girona coach, Míchel Sánchez, said that in the first half of the match they won 2-4 against Granada he saw “the best football of his team” since he has been in charge of italthough he was dissatisfied with the second half of his team.
“When we give our maximum performance we can compete against anyone and if we lower our mentality a little the rival surpasses us by a lot. “They are three very valuable points with a great first half and a second half where we made quite a few mistakes,” Míchel commented after the game at a press conference.
“In the first half we played the best football I have seen in Girona since I have been here. We created many scoring situations. “People deserve to be happy, happy, to have euphoria, but we need to continue improving and working,” she added.
Regarding the second half, the coach indicated that “Granada always generates goal situations and cannot neglect you not even a moment”.
“We cannot play with the score, we have to play one hundred percent. “When you play with time passing, it turns against you,” she said.
Míchel made it clear that “statistics are not worth much” and that they have to focus on “the objectives ahead.”
“The first thing is to be able to be in First Division three years in a row.. Now it is illogical to think about other things. “We need a lot of humility, a lot of work and a very good mentality,” she added.
“I am very happy with the day to day life, which is what marks my feelings. We can win or lose, but we are a team that will compete”, concluded the Girona coach.
