Tim Declercq misses Omloop due to inflammation of the pericardium

“I started the season very well and felt ready to give the best for the team,” Declercq started on Wednesday. “But a few hours after the first stage in the Tour of the Algarve I felt very bad. We didn’t immediately know what was going on, but later it turned out to be pericarditis. The symptoms have gone away and there will be no long-term consequences, but we are following the doctor’s advice and so i will stay off the bike for the next few weeks i will be a bit heartbroken (figuratively) cheering for the wolfpack myself i miss my beloved classics i am going to try stronger than ever to return.”
