The German discounter Tedi GmbH & Co. KG appoints Petar Burazin to the role of CEO.
Burazin has been working in his new role since September 1st, the Dortmund company announced on Thursday. The aim is to achieve internationalization and the growth target of 5,000 branches.
He didn’t have to travel a long way to do this, as he was most recently working for the Woolworth department store group based in nearby Unna as Sales Director. At Tedi, Burazin takes over for Silvan Wohlfarth, who has held the role of CEO since December 2017 and is leaving the company “by mutual agreement,” according to the statement.
In addition to Burazin, Darius Kauthe has also been part of the management since the beginning of July, heading the finance and administration areas. The two already know each other from their time together at the textile discounter Kik, where Burazin was managing director for Romania for almost eight years, most recently until last September, and where Kauthe was head of finance until mid-2018.
In addition to Germany, Tedi is active in 14 European countries and operates 2,950 branches, 1,930 of which are on the domestic market.
