It’s party time! Focus has been around for 30 years
Exactly 30 years ago, Tony Van den Bosch introduced Focus to the living room for the first time. He left the BRT, the Seventh Day, to start regional television. He is still a defining figure for screen faces Brigitte Balfoort and Jan Smekens. “He was actually our mentor, and also a little bit our father,” says Brigitte.
“Never Laughed So Much”
Those first years also had something special. “We were actually still a very small team. That meant that there was also a huge sense of togetherness. And we laughed… Really, my career afterwards took a while, and still does. But I’ve never laughed as much as that first period of Focus”, Balfoort looks back.
We also laugh and look back in a new season of Preus lik 30. On Wednesday 6 September we will receive Kamagurka and Geert Hoste.
