Prince Andrew will have to move out of the Royal Lodge by the beginning of September – if last weekend’s family gathering doesn’t mess up the plans.

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, 63, was linked in January 2015 to an ongoing sex crime case in the United States. In connection with the case, material was published in which Andrew allegedly used a minor Virginia Giuffre sexually exploited.
It was a case related to Jeffrey Epstein’s human trafficking from the beginning of the 2000s. The prince was not charged criminally, but Giuffre filed a civil suit against him.
A significant turning point occurred in January 2022, when a US court decided to hear Giuffre and Andrew’s civil suit in court.
Move aside
Immediately after the court’s decision, Andrew’s position as a royal was limited as little as possible with a quick schedule. It was reported that he will continue to respond to the allegations as a private individual.
Among other things, Andrew lost his colonel and admiral titles as well as his royal protection duties, i.e. work with various organizations and charity projects.
Andrew is no longer represented in royal duties other than his own family’s events, for example at the Queen’s funeral and his brother’s coronation. At events, he wears a dark suit instead of a military uniform.
Andrew is also no longer addressed as “His Royal Highness”.

Child support for the cutter
Andrew bought himself free from the trial. In March 2022, he paid Giuffre more than 14 million euros in compensation. But Andrew will hardly be able to save his ruined reputation.
He has become the black sheep and castaway of the royal family.
One indication of Andrew’s disadvantaged position is the fate of his home.
Already at the beginning of the year, it was reported that King Charles is trying to evict his brother from the Royal Lodge located on the lands of Windsor. It is a spectacular historic property with 30 bedrooms, surrounded by 40 acres of land. Over the years, millions of pounds have been spent on renovating and maintaining the Royal Lodge.
Charles previously cut Andrew’s child support by £250,000.
The king doesn’t want to let Andrew live half-free in a luxury mansion for which he pays £250 a week rent.

Torsion of brothers
However, evicting the prince’s brother has proven to be difficult. In 2003, Andrew signed a lease for the house, which is valid for 75 years.
Charles would like to move Andrew to Frogmore Cottage, which used to be the home of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.
However, Andrew is not going to move anywhere. No, although the Royal Lodge is undergoing renovations. The property’s roof is being renovated, and living in the house during the renovation can be challenging.
Andrew is said to be afraid that if he leaves for the evacuation during the renovation, there will be no way to come back to the house.
For Andrew, giving up the apartment would mean shedding the last shreds of dignity. The man really doesn’t want to lower himself to his brother’s demands.
– This is all about the brothers’ struggle for power and status, royal biographer Andrew Lownie has stated to the Mirror.
– Andrew’s chances don’t look good, but that doesn’t stop him. I don’t see him giving up his apartment, Lownie clarifies.
However, Charles may take to the big guns and cut off the electricity and water to the Royal Lodge.
Even earlier, Charles threw Andrew out of Buckingham Palace and forbade him to use the palace as his own office space.
Andrew lives in Royal Lodge with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. In practice, Fergie would also be evicted.
The deadline is looming
After the king’s coronation, Andrew’s state of mind is said to have been shaken.
– He is so fragile. He doesn’t want to see anyone. This has been his family’s home for the past 20 years. Does it really make sense to throw him out the door? an inside source has described Andrew’s state of mind.
The Court has informed Andrew and Sarah that they must leave the Royal Lodge by September at the latest.
How it will turn out is still up to guesswork. Namely, Charles has unexpectedly started warming up his relations with his brother again. According to insiders, the king would no longer want to leave Andrew outside the royal family.
The issue was discussed at a family gathering Charles organized at Balmoral last weekend.
However, no new information has leaked out about the housing issue.
Andrew is said to be planning an exposé book in which he would tell his own version of the sex scandal and try to improve his ruined reputation.
Andrew comes in line of succession to the British throne after Charles’ children and grandchildren. So it doesn’t seem very likely that he will one day become a ruler.
