dAfter the airing of the first episode, tonight at 21.20 on Rai 2 the intricate story of The dark side of my family. German miniseries that tells of a young girl grappling with the death of her mother at the hands of her beloved father. A catastrophic event that will mark the beautiful Vivi the end of adolescence and entry into adult life.
The dark side of my family: where were we
The Klettmann family lives in a refined district of Munich and, at least on the surface, seems to lead an idyllic life. The family nucleus consists of Peter (Torben Liebrecht), a successful lawyer, his wife Anna and their three children: Vivian (Julia Beaux), Daniel and little Emmi. But this apparent normality is destroyed by a sudden tragedy. In fact, during a heated argument, Peter kills his wife on the day of the woman’s 44th birthday. And while the man is behind bars awaiting trial, his dark past is slowly clarified by some family tragedies.
Meanwhile, young Vivian suddenly finds herself having to assume the role of breadwinner, a responsibility he would never have imagined. And his carefree adolescence suddenly disappears, replaced by a battle for custody of the brothers. However, in such a difficult moment, the girl has the opportunity to meet Tim, a young police officer who soon becomes attached to her and with whom she decides to live together.. Although even the boy hides a few too many secrets.

The previews of the second episode
While Vivi trusts Tim more and more, and eventually even moves in with him, it is clear that the young policeman is hiding something to the girl. Such as the fact that she knew Vivi’s mother Anna very well. In the meantime, Peter is asked about his alleged romantic relationship with Vivi’s classmate Dilara Miller. since Detective Lebowski discovered that the man was paying her monthly private school tuition. But Peter vehemently denies the allegations.

Going back to the past, young Peter despairs over what happened on prom night and contemplates suicide but Anna stops him at the last minute and manages to make the boy find the will to live again. The two boys thus become a couple and we also relive the first years of their marriage where the man, marked by his deadly secret, tries to lead an orderly family life and become a good parent. However, Peter’s mother, mentally ill, is locked up in an asylum by her husband who will soon die to the delight of the man who always hated his father.
Finally free from paternal oppressions, Peter and Anna live carefree years until one day Dilara Miller’s family shows up as clients of the law firm and his tragic past overwhelms him again. In the present however, Vivi learns that her siblings have been placed in foster homes and tries to bring them home to no avail. Tim stays by her side until she does a discovery in his apartment that will prove fatal.
