White phones are by no means the usual sight on the store shelf. Apple is one of the few manufacturers to make white phones, but from time to time, other manufacturers are also testing their own white models.
Oneplus has now released a white Oneplus 10 Pro in the Chinese market. It’s time for the last time, as the manufacturer’s previous white phone was the Oneplus 6, which was released in 2018.
Product Manager at Oneplus Liu Fengshuo revealed three reasons why Chinese phones are a rarer sight. He told me about it Android Authority.
The first reason Fengshuo says is the difficulty of the white phone manufacturing process. According to the director, it is more difficult to get the color, material and finish to the finish in white phones, and if even a small deviation occurs, the end result is completely different and the structure deteriorates.
The second reason Fengshuo cites higher production costs compared to other color options. Developing the right kind of white isn’t easy either, but Fengshuo says it took three months and more than a hundred effects to find the right shade.
The third reason Fengshuo finds simple is fingerprints, which are more visible on a white surface.
