Psychiatric hospital Sint-Amandus opens renewed department

The De Bron department is an admission and treatment department that is part of the Sint-Amandus Psychiatric Hospital in Beernem. The center can look back on a long history and a rich arsenal of specialized care for people with a psychotic vulnerability, also in combination with other problems. The department is recognized for 28 places, of which 2 are intensive places for the scaling up of care during crisis situations.

The renovations were part of the process following official government recognition since July 1, 2019 as an ID department. Central to the design of this intensification is treatment, counseling and crisis management in small living groups or at an individual level within a recovery-supporting therapeutic environment.
