Mountaineer Lotta Hintsa published her first Instagram update The Amazing Race – after the program descriptions. In his publication, Hintsa says that he has stayed away from social media for a while, as he is currently recovering from the strain.

Hintsa got inflammation around the Achilles tendons on both legs. He also had a mild stress fracture in his right tibia, which limits his mobility.

– Some time ago I could only go down the stairs backwards, Hintsa tells Iltalehte.

Due to inflammation and a slight fracture, Hintsa is not allowed to strain his legs, so running is on the forbidden list for a while. A recovery plan has been made for him, according to which he will move for the next few weeks.

– In practice, it means that I pedal the bike and do the physio according to the coach, Hintsa describes his current recovery process.

– 6–8 weeks is the turnaround time. In mid-September, we will see what the mood is with the magnet, the mountaineer confirms.

A positive attitude

In his publication, Hintsa says that he had to postpone his plans for the following weeks. Due to recovery, the expected trip to Nepal was cancelled.

Although the early autumn trip to Nepal was cancelled, Hintsa says that she plans to go there when her health permits.

– Fortunately, here the worst pains start to subside and there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve gotten over the frustration, Hintsa tells Iltalehte.

The original plans changed completely, but that hasn’t deterred Hintsa. For the mountaineer, different kinds of projects and interesting things are in store for autumn.

Before that, however, he plans to take it easy to rehabilitate his leg and go one day at a time according to his condition.

– In spite of everything, I’m in a really good mood, Hintsa says cheerfully.

In mountain climbing and sports, he has learned that anything can happen and surprising setbacks are also possible.

– If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s the tolerance of uncertainty and the fact that plans don’t always go as planned. I am quite satisfied with myself, how quickly I focused on what I can influence in this situation, he describes.

Lotta Hintsa participated with her sister Eleonora “Noora” Hintsa in Finland’s first Amazing Race program. The filming of the program ended more than a week ago. Joona Rissanen
