Russia accuses Ukraine of drone attack on Moscow office buildings

Moscow was reported to have been the target of an attack with at least two drones on Monday morning local time. Sergey Sobyanin, the mayor of the Russian capital, reports that Monday on Telegram. According to Russian authorities, two office buildings were damaged and no injuries were reported. One of the drones is said to have crashed near the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The same ministry points the finger of blame at Ukraine. “An attempt by the regime in Kyiv to carry out a terrorist action with two drones against objects in the territory of the city of Moscow has been stopped,” the defense ministry said in a statement. Kyiv has not yet responded to the Russian claims.

Since the war in Ukraine, drone strikes have become more frequent on Russian territory. The Ukrainian government has consistently denied being behind these attacks. For example, a drone attack was carried out on an airport in Moscow earlier this month and in May this year the Kremlin was the target of a drone attack.
